A selection of images taken using vintage Russian and Japanese lenses from the film-era mounted on modern digital cameras including the Panasonic Lumix S5, Fuji x-t1, Lumix L1 and Leica Digilux 3. I have a fascination with using quality manual lenses from 50 or so years ago, some even older. Simply put, I just love the tonality and colours they achieve, particularly when shot wide open. Most of these old lenses open up to apertures between f2.8 to f1.8 which creates an opportunity for amazing bokeh. With prices really affordable when compared with modern lenses, vintage lenses combined with modern digital cameras open up a world of opportunity with regards experimental photography.
