TQ2 is the the area of Torquay I call home. It abounds with every type of life, opportunity and misery Torquay has to offer. From the very opulance and grandure of the Grand Hotel and the multi-million pound investments at Abbey Sands right through to some of the worst housing and most difficult trading locations in the Bay. To me, TQ2 is very much black & white, hence my choice of medium for this project. In this specialised diploma, I have sought to capture in just a few images how affluence and poverty can so easily co-exist in just a few square miles of land. For me at least, they are Worlds Apart.

If you are interested in photography, want to improve, meet with like-minded people, share interests and expand your friends network, Paignton Photographic Club is a great place to start. We service all of Paignton, Brixham and Torquay with members of all ages and from every walk of life. Monday night meetings focus on improving your photography skills as well as providing you with the opportunity to share your work through competitions and exhibitions.
